2 years worth blogpost!

Good Friday people!
It turns out we missed the entire twenty thirteen. Last time I wrote was mid 2012, and you bet a lot has changed in almost 2 years time! So to put it simply, here is what happened in 2013; I've met some lovely people, did things I've always liked, put our house on the market (yes, the one that we never lived in :p ), and the last one is pretty major. We got Nayra a little sister! (here comes the confetti, balloons and whistles) Didn't see that one coming, eh?

So this bundle of joy was delivered on December 28th 2013, again, by c-section (I didn't need to add another place for new sutures right?) Given the natural perk of c-section (or not so natural come to think of it), we would have wanted it to be delivered on the IT delivery dates, like 11-12-13 (11 december 2013) if it wasn't for the later due date. We thought it best to wait till the pregnancy was complete, 39 weeks along at least, but then we couldn't afford to wait till it's 40 weeks or even wait till new years eve. We were anxious to have this baby and wouldn't spare another minute to have her in our arms. So it was decided. December 27th 2013 was the day we first set our eyes on something so delicate and beautiful. Nadine Aishalyra Dharmawan.

Praises to God.
Words will never be sufficient to describe what we were feeling. (It's always like that when you have a child of your own). Of course she was every bit as wonderful as we could have ever imagined. Only endless praises can be offered to Him upon this angel He bestows on us. With a full grown jet black hair (not to forget sideburns she apparently had the luxury to grow while she's still in my womb), rosy cheeks, sweet kind eyes and the most angelic face she made our life that much sweeter.

It's in human traits and nature that parents are madly in love with their children. So I guess it's universal law to always bear with ones loving and adoring comments on ones child, right?

It's eonline time !

Living back and forth in two places at once is tricky, especially when you have a kid. At first being a control freak that I am, everytime I was moving from one place to the other I felt like it was necessary to call in a u-haul. But eventually I got so tired of thinking everything's important, so naturally I split our things into two and place them each in one of our place. So if my and nayra's top sometimes don't go with the pants we're wearing or I'm seen recycling the same outfit over and over again, please don't judge. That's due to our nomadic lifestyle.

Yes I'm still moving back and forth between Senayan and Karawaci. I enjoy staying in both place but the thing about staying in Senayan is that up in the suite we can only get crappy internet connection ! Which... I can't deal with sometimes :( The lobby provides free and good connection, but I can only stand sitting on the leather sofa for an hour or two :(

Meanwhile living in Karawaci means time for usmagazine and eonline.com Yayy ! I just saw what the stars wore for Emmy 2012. I haven't watched fashion police yet, but below are my personal picks which also constitute the type of things I would wear (the blog isn't named fairytalemindedme for no reason, huh ? A girl can only dreeeeam haha)

OMG! I dont even watch Game of Thrones but i loveee Emilia Clarke in this Chanel number! It's like what Emma Stone wore for the Spiderman premiere, only better!

I think she needs more color and umph factor. But this J Mendel frock is the type of thing I would wear in real life :)

Who doesn't love G? And this Romona Keveza gown is impeccable. Period.

Hayden Panettiere has always had that electric aura you know. And she definitely works it in this Marchessa column gown.

I'm not familiar with January Jones but just so we're clear, I think the Zac Posen gown is amazing!! But it doesn't really require a grin to pull off this outfit. A pout works better don't you think?

I dont know who she is either but the burgundy Vera Wang dress she dons is definitely gorg!

Dont you just love the J Mendel hue Kat Denning's rocking?

Like Giuliana, Kelly Osbourne's donning Zac Posen only in lavender taffeta.

Maria Menuonos looks stunning in this eco-couture gown by Oliver  Tolentino.  Word is the fabric's handwoven from pineapple tree!
A faaaaab Monique Lhuilier gown!

Tina Fey definitely rocks this burgundy corseted Viviene Westwood number.

I love this number Zosie Mamet's wearing too !! This is the type of thing that Bond girl would wear.
Ok, this is definitely not a fashion or styling blog but you have to bear with me cause I just couldn't help it. Looking through the Chanel, J Mendels, Zac Posens, Marchessa and Viviene Westwood above I still can't shake this image that's been stuck in my mind, from last year's Emmy.
Nina Dobrev is aaabsolute perfection in this Donna Karan gown with Brian Atwood shoes and Neil Lane jewelry!  This  is what shooting for the stars means, ladies!! Take note!!
I'm just gonna stop right here and let you savor the moment hehe. Talk to you again soon !

The Dream

I don't know is it because I'm a Cancer or is it just me, that I don't enjoy traveling that much. I'm definitely not one who easily considers other people's homes or hotel rooms as homey as my house, however amazing the house and furnitures may be. I simply prefer my own house (my mom's that is, cause I'm still living back and forth with my Mom and Dad, since the house me and my hubby's building is not done yet). I figure it is the element of habit and belonging.

However, sharing and styling a house together with your spouse is a whole different thing, especially if you have two different preferences in styling a home. Which is pretty much my case.

We learn to accept new perspective and expand our limit of comfort. Meanwhile taking the two styles of home somewhere in the middle. This is new and exciting.

Here's what i love:
I've always loved the Sofa and Mirrored Coffee Table
Another Mirrored Coffee Table I love (this one's local), but it's no longer produced
OK, so let's not leave out the sets from my all time favorite series, Gossip Girl and Sex and The City which share the same celebrated interior designer, Christina Tonkin!!

The Van Der Woodsen's
With Missoni upholstery
The Louis Ghost Chairs

Of course going all the way feminine like Gossip Girl's set is a longggg shot being married to my hubby.  Cause here's what he's into:

So he likes cool, neat, spacey feel, masculinity and no fuss.
Well I can do contemporary style and furniture as long as there's not too many metal thing going on. Cause it makes the room cold and distant. I have to admit I like the warmth and romance oozing from the style that I like (shown earlier) that I later found out from our interior designer was called modern eclectic.

About mixing the two together, I can't help but think that Carrie and Big's new apartment in Sex and The City 2 movie can be the thing we look up to. I'm no interior designer but I think this movie set screams out modern eclectic with masculine touch.

Oh my God. Sexy mirror. J'adoreee
Let's just not die over the walk-in.
Isn't it every girl's dream to home their shoes like this?
When Mr Big punished Carrie with a humongous black diamond.
Don't you just looveee the Lola Ottoman??

My favorite rooms are the blue-theme living room, the walk-in (duhh ??) and the bedroom. But there isn't one thing that I don't love in this marvelously decorated apartment. It's simply impeccable. Just like Carrie said, She DID cheat on fashion with furniture. BIG TIME.

Well, of course there's no way me and my hubby are able to buy or duplicate the furniture with our limited budget. It's just THE DREAM, you know =) But I really hope our different tastes can come together nicely. Wish us luck!

Nanny-less

I have help from a babysitter to raise and take care of my sunshine Nayra since she was born. I enjoy taking care of nayra by myself but it really helps when I need to have a me-time, girls-night-out with friends or saturday night date with my hubby.

Nayra and Mba Karmi

But she's taking a leave starting today to attend two family weddings back home (she lives in Madiun), and she also has a family, a husband, son and daughter so I don't have the heart to give her only a-week-leave.

I'm actually looking forward to this bonding time with the ever so lively Nayra :) But since my mom is alway out and about, and my hubby's not exactly the baby-hugging-dad type so I'm just hoping Nayra and I are healthy and enjoying this, Bismillah :)

Pictures ASAP!

This should not be the way we're going.. Don't you think?

I just went on this blog and scrolled down as to see what I've been posting. I'll be the first to admit I'm not the most updated person in the world when it comes to bloggosphere world (explains the barely standard blog layout), but the least I can do to make this blog bearable is to put in some nice pictures right? So in the spirit of making a better effort, I'll try to post more picts in posts ahead.

Recap of that long weekend? As promised, more captures ;)

Ayana Resort

We were so refreshed there, but odd enough felt beat when we got back in Jakarta. So much for a refreshing vacation haha. Maybe it was because we were seconds away from missing our plane back. We were so late when we got to the airport, we ran for our dear lives to get to departure gate. And with the renovations going on to expand Ngurah Rai International airport, the nearest car drop off seemed like miles away from it. So once our rental ride pulled over, we practically hauled our suitcases and entered the olympic for running marathon (with airport track, that is).

Out of breath, limbs attached but all ache, we got to departure gate and it was the last call to board our plane. Thank God we were clear to board cause my in law, Devin who was vacationing with us had checked us in online the previous week but since Drop Baggage is closed our luggage couldn't go through!!! ;((((
Selflessly, her husband, Iben who was also with us quickly decided to stay and catch the next plane along with our three big suitcases that were clearly unquestionable for us to take. God bless him.

But worst was, once we hopped in the plane, I felt like pleading sorry to all the other passengers but I managed to look down on my feet as I walked to my seat and pretended they didn't scorn at us.

I'm usually the passenger-who-comes-2-hours-before-flight type but that was some experience and it taught us not to mess with flight schedule. Lesson learned.

Happy to relay that long weekend. Let's make 'be punctual (or be early)' our spirit this week :)

ordinary tuesday

Long weekend's around the corner Yayy !
For those of you who are involuntarily forced to be workaholic, you can finally take a breather from your routines and do work outs (watch that chair-hugging bum!), get those heels in your spring wish list, watch The Avengers (if you haven't gotten around to it yet, poor thing) and reserve a table in Negev for a dinner for two! Yess, long weekend's never overrated :)

This is a weekend to look up to for ma petite famille too :) - not that we're planning to do anything wild.
Mr. D, my pumpkin pie, me and the ever-faithful babysitter are going to Bali. This is our second time going to this world wide-known paradise in 6 months. Last time was in a December and it was raining a lot we couldn't enjoy the beach eventhough Kute Beach is literally across the road from the hotel we were staying in. Hope we've better luck this time.
We're going this Friday with Nayra's grandmuff, grandpuff, and aunty Dedev. Her other aunt, aunty Devin and uncle Iben decided to take early leave from their offices and fly tomorrow to Bali, and take a ferry from there headed to Lombok. They're gonna meet us back in Bali on Friday.

Bad news, Nayra and I've still got the cold. But thank God it's nothing serious and we've still got two days to get back into our prime self and enjoy this vacay (fingers crossed :)

On another note, there's this song that's been going on and on in my head. Thanx to one of my bestie who did this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GZNsD0B1KJU&feature=colike for a Charlie Challenge initiated by Dianna Agron, one of the now-not-so glorious Glee casts (how did Glee become so borrrringgg ??)

I love this number my bestie sang, and eventhough I know zero spanish (I have to google the lyrics obviously) I'm sure it's about something sexy and spirited like the flamenco. :D

Hope you enjoy it and add it to your playlist to accompany you through this weekend!

The rule of expectation

It was a long awaited sunday...

But when it's finally here, somehow things turned out worse than expected...
